What are we doing?

We are a group of six (6) people in three (3) cars driving on holiday from Norway and England in Europe to Mongolia, following the old Silk Route. Four of us come from Norway and two from Great Britain. We met more than six years ago in a similar expedition driving from Europe to Morocco, and already back then, the dream of driving the old Silk Route to Mongolia was born. We have been planning this expedition for years now, and finally we are on our way!
Tim and Isabel will be starting from Hereford, England on Monday 3rd June.  Atle and Hilde will be setting off from Hafslo, Norway on Saturday 8th June. Olav and Astrid will be leaving Bergen, Norway on Wednesday 12th June.  We will be meeting up en route and then be driving all the way to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, hoping to arrive there safely around the end of July.  From there we hope to get permission to drive through China to Hong Kong.

We will be driving through the following countries: lots of Europe then Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia and China.

The mission of our trip is purely leisure. We are travelling as tourists and we have no business or economic interests in the countries we are visiting.
We have obtained all necessary and available visas, car and travel insurances before we left our home countries. We have also been in contact with all available embassies and/or consulates
